[/size][/b]We have worked hard to be able to present the first beta version of a-squared Anti-Malware 4.0 now. It introduces exciting new features as follows.
[b]What's new in a-squared Anti-Malware 4.0?[/b]
[color=#ff0000]We have added a second scan engine for the Scanner and onExecution Guard. The second engine comes from the famous Austrian antivirus company Ikarus and is a pure antivirus engine[/color]. We expect much better detection rates with the dual engine mode. There is still a lot of work left until a final release to improve the scanning speed and reduce the memory usage. The second engine will be added later in a-squared Free too.
We have improved the a-squared scan engine: It loads 57% faster, uses 30% less RAM and scans 4% faster than v3.x.
We have added all latest Malware-IDS features of Mamutu 1.7: Such as ability to block single behavior patterns without the need to shut down the alerted program completely.
The graphical user interface (GUI) has been refreshed completely. A new menu item for Logging has been added too.
[color=#0000ff][size=5]To get the new 4.0 beta version, turn on the beta updates in the update settings dialog. Then run an online update to get the latest binaries. After that, run one more update to get the new signatures.[/size][/color]
[b]CAUTION! Note that use of Beta Updates is always a risk and may crash your system! Please use beta updates only if you are able to restore your PC if it crashes. If you experience a system freeze, try to boot the system in safe mode, disable the a2guard.exe autorun and boot normally. [/b]
[b]How to submit bug reports?[/b]
If the application crashes for any reason, you will usually see a box to submit the crash report. Please add a short description of the situation when the crash occurred. If you don't get this box, please write a detail bug report and sent it to [email=info@emsisoft.com][color=#0000ff]info@emsisoft.com[/color][/email]. If possible, add a DebugView logfile to help us to locate the bug faster.
